Empowering a Local Change Agent to Reach the Last Mile - the story of Tarcisio Ernesto

In 2014, after years of hearing neighboring farmers complaining about the low quality of seeds they were getting by recycling the previous year’s grains, and the high costs and inconvenience of traveling to purchase non-recycled seeds, Tarciso started selling improved seeds to other farmers in the Netia market in Nampula’s Monapo District. He now has an ongoing relationship with a major input supplier in the capital city of Nampula, a link that was facilitated through by iDE and the Last Mile project.
